This Privacy Policy describes how Skip.Li (“we”, “our”, “the service”) processes data when you access or use our peer-to-peer URL shortening service.
Skip.Li does not store URLs, logs, or user data on its own servers. All shortened links are exchanged directly between users through a decentralized peer-to-peer network. We do not maintain any database of URLs or visitor logs.
Skip.Li uses a P2P model based on PeerJS. When you create or open a link, your browser temporarily participates in the network and may share cached link metadata (alias, URL, hash) with other peers to allow the system to function.
PeerJS relies on external signaling and STUN infrastructure, including the Google STUN server (stun.l.google.com). These servers may see your IP address as part of the WebRTC negotiation process. This is a technical requirement for establishing peer-to-peer connectivity.
Skip.Li does not control or log PeerJS infrastructure and receives no personal data from it.
We use Matomo Analytics to understand how many people use the website and to improve its performance. Matomo may use cookies and basic browser-side identifiers (such as device type or pages visited). These analytics are anonymized and used solely for aggregated statistics.
No personal data is shared with third parties, and the analytics data is not used for profiling or advertising.
Skip.Li displays non-intrusive banner advertising from third-party providers:
A-Ads banners are embedded strictly through an iframe. No scripts from A-Ads run on your browser. Any data collected by A-Ads is handled externally and governed by their privacy policy:

Some pages may display Monetag ads, which may include their own client-side scripts. Monetag may collect browser or device information for ad delivery, subject to their privacy policy:

Skip.Li itself does not set tracking cookies. Cookies may be set by:

This data is shared only with other visitors for technical operation, not with Skip.Li servers.
Skip.Li does not require registration and does not collect names, emails, or personal information. All link data remains client-side and peer-to-peer.
